East coast USA — far northeast Maine into East Canada (halifax) damaging winds, hail, and strong cell thunderstorm warnings issued.
Further south along the east coast — West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC — damaging winds, hail, and possible tornadoes detected.
In the midwest — Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Indiana.. be aware of the ongoing hail, damaging winds, and possible tornadoes.
In the West to Southwest.. Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Arizona, and north Texas — damaging winds, and large hail detected. Some areas yet to be hit, but expect these conditions to arrive in each state before daybreak.
All storms pressing ESE at the moment (overall)… eventually all will move East — if you live in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, West Virginia — be aware of more storms throughout the night as the system over Iowa moves ESE through Illinois.
Rolling blackouts in west St. Louis Missouri — Ballwin, MO zipcode 63011 — First hand report from my wife.. electricity off for about 30 minutes today at 4pm CDT — hottest part of the day. Upon her call to the power company.. the customer service rep. said power would be back on at 930pm !!
The power then came back on within 15 minutes of the call to the company. I don’t know how many others are still without power. NOT GOOD on a record heat day ! Lets hope 930pm is just a blanket statement.
Topping out at 108F / 43C in some areas… 14% humidity .. winds out of the SW at about 5-7mph .. pressure at 29.80 steady .. is Missouri the new Arizona / New Mexico?! Lets hope not… but for the next several days, it sure will seem to be !
Forecast 100F+ degree temps for the next several days (at least four days).
Be aware of large wildfire threat, excessive heat, damaging heat (cars , pets, plants , lawns etc.. ). Also check on elderly, and be aware of your personal heat limits… everyone responds a bit differently to heat.. some can take it.. others drop out in minutes…
Kamchatka Russia — (pacific ring of fire north of Japan) .. a magnitude 6.5 earthquake has struck just offshore of the island chain. No tsunami associated with this seismic movement.

TVN storm chasers Reed Timmer, Dick McGowan, Chris Chittick and Chad Cowan intercepted a violent tornado in extreme southwestern South Dakota on June 22, 2012! Chasing without the protection of the Dominator’s Lexan windows, massive hail being driven by hurricane-force winds in the near-tornado environment blew out several windows on their vehicle as they remained focused on documenting one of 2012′s most photogenic tornadoes! Visit http://www.tvnweather.com for live chasing from the field, and webisodes (coming soon!) which will detail the rest of the story from the 2012 season!
Tornadoes breaking out across midwest to the Pacific northwest.. also damaging winds and hail in the SW and SE

Tropical storm “Debby” has formed in the gulf of mexico… several storm tracks have it pulling WNW towards Houston to Austin…. tropical storm warnings for landfall have already been issued for New Orleans Louisiana, and the adjacent nearby areas along the coast.
We are seeing damaging winds, hail, and possible tornadoes detected throughout Florida, South Carolina, and North Carolina. The east coast storms in SC and NC will pull WNW with the counter clockwise rotation of this tropical storm.
Watch all the gulf coast states for damaging winds, possible hail and brief tornadoes — flooding rain as well… this means.. South Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida.
Also watch the severe weather (damaging winds and hail) at the Missouri / Iowa border.. heading ESE towards central Illinois.. just east of Saint Louis Missouri eventually.
In the Southwest USA — at the Arizona / New Mexico / Mexico border regions.. we are seeing hail and damaging winds break out … heading WSW and ENE in a slight rotation.
In the far pacific northwest.. Washington State, Oregon, British Columbia — we are seeing damaging winds, and hail detected .. also warnings / watches issued by the Canadian weather service for much of BC extending SE towards Calgary…… this is associated with a storm that has a center still out over the pacific .. just west of Seattle currently … counterclockwise rotating as well.. the whole storm is heading ESE towards Oregon and North California…. Eventually this off the west coast will push eastwards after pulling south a bit more…. which will bring severe weather out west.. then into the southwest US states of AZ , NM , TX.
Have a severe weather plan ready just in case you ever come across a severe weather outbreak in your particular area. shelter, food, water, communications, transportation, survival supplies (the basics)… all are needed for several scenarios.. whether it is severe weather, earthquakes, civil unrest, power outages etc..
June 16 near midnight (1130pm CDT)… going into the early hours of June 17 2012 .. a severe thunderstorm blew just west by northwest of St. Louis Missouri — while recording from my front porch …….. the following occurred :
at just after the 2minute mark — a small ionized cloud of some kind appears BEFORE the lightning strike — sorry about my “wow!” but it was impressive.. didn’t see the little cloud until watching on the computer…
At about 3min 13 seconds — GREEN lightning
Then at about the 4min 55second mark to about 5min 30 seconds.. a strange transparent large glowing sphere appears.. and then is obscured by clouds fairly quickly…
Don’t know what it is.. plasma of some kind maybe?!
Facing South by southwest from south Saint Louis Missouri at about midnight 1150pm to about midnight CDT 6/16/2012

South Saint Louis, Missouri :
Shot with a different camera than the previous video — the previous camera which captured the first green lightning was a Sony non-HD Handycam… this current camera on the roof is a Kodak waterproof HD cam. Both captured the green lightning.
June 16th .. 1130pm to about 130am on the 17th … from the 2nd story of my house.. outdoor waterproof camera on the roof — facing West by Northwest.
The hue of the clouds goes from a reddish to a green hue.. the lightning … which was VERY intense .. had several GREEN flashes .. as the storm passed from SW to NE this happened… it was not power transformers blowing.. it was indeed the lightning itself.
