10/27/2012 — Hurricane Sandy MICROWAVE ANOMALY

This is like a repeat of last years Hurricane Irene…

Below are the microwave images of Hurricane Sandy — October 26, 27 2012 — clearly an anomaly is occurring:

link here: (click on MIMIC option on the left menu) http://tropic.ssec.wisc.edu/

—————————-

The microwave anomaly is on TOP of the ‘HAARP ring” pulse we saw last night Oct 26, 2012: (be aware of a tornado threat at the center of the pulse for up to 2 days AFTER the hurricane passes)

—————————

—————————

Does any of this sound familiar?

If you’re a viewer of mine from last year — you have heard this particular scenario before !

Last year, Hurricane Irene, August 26, 2011,  we saw a microwave “anomaly” interfere with the center of the storm:

http://tropic.ssec.wisc.edu/real-time/mimic-tc/2011_09L/webManager/displayGifsBy12hr_06.html

Last years microwave anomaly happened near the same time as an intense “HAARP ring” pulse from North Carolina.

Worthy to note, last year — after this pulse occurred (seen below in multiple screenshots) , 2 days later we saw TORNADOES go to the center of this pulse area:

—————————

Overall, I would say the chances of BOTH these types of events happening TWICE .. ONLY during hurricanes off the East Coast USA … are slim to none.

Most likely, a form of weather modification occurring.

Read more about the ‘HAARP ring’ pulse from RADAR — the microwave anomaly is a real unknown still — trying to figure out what is causing this.

10/26/2012 — Salton Sea Volcano — Sulfuric Smells in San Diego CONFIRMED VOLCANIC

BREAKING NEWS:

Mystery smells in southern California – coming from the Salton Sea … CONFIRMED were indeed from magma movement / volcanic activity at the buttes around the south portion of the sea.

Below is a screenshot of one of the Buttes at the south end of the Salton Sea:

I’m viewing this as a full confirmation of what we saw over the past year in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and Mexico.

Several Earthquakes — several fume events — several boom events — several plume events — just a sign that magma is indeed moving.  (all plume events linked below the article)

Salton Sea Volcano Mystery Solved

http://news.yahoo.com/salton-sea-volcano-mystery-solved-182258381.html

Earthquake swarms and a region-wide rotten egg smell recently reminded Southern California residents they live next to an active volcano field, tiny though it may be.

At the time, scientists said the phenomena did not reflect changes in the magma chamber below the Salton Sea. But now, researchers may need to revise estimates of the potential hazard posed by the Salton Buttes — five volcanoes at the lake’s southern tip.

The buttes last erupted between 940 and 0 B.C., not 30,000 years ago, as previously thought, a new study detailed online Oct. 15 in the journal Geology reports. The new age — which makes these some of California’s youngest volcanoes — pushes the volcanic quintuplets into active status. The California Volcano Observatory, launched in February by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), already lists the area as a high threat for future blasts.

“The USGS is starting to monitor all potentially active volcanoes in California, which includes the Salton Buttes,” said study author Axel Schmitt, a geochronologist at the University of California, Los Angeles. “With our results, I think this will further enhance the need to look into the system,” Schmitt told OurAmazingPlanet.

Schmitt and his colleagues dated zircon crystals in the hardened lava of the buttes with a relatively new technique, a “helium clock” that starts ticking once the minerals begin cooling at the surface.

Resolving the Obsidian Butte riddle

The revised age solves a long-standing archeological conundrum, said Steve Shackley, emeritus professor of anthropology at the University of California, Berkeley. Artifacts created from one of the five buttes, Obsidian Butte, first appear in Native American villages around 510 B.C. to 640 B.C. The Kumeyaay people, whose territory ranged from the coast to the Coso Mountains, crafted projectiles from Obsidian Butte glass, he said. “The men produced some of the best in the world,” Shackley told OurAmazingPlanet.

However, for decades, researchers thought Obsidian Butte erupted thousands of years earlier. To explain why no one collected the valuable obsidian, archeologists hypothesized that Obsidian Butte was submerged under ancient Lake Cahuilla, the precursor to today’s Salton Sea. But geologists had long proved that Lake Cahuilla was ephemeral, flooding and emptying over and over again, so the explanation was always problematic.

“If this dating method is correct, then the Obsidian Butte material wasn’t even available, and that makes more sense archaeologically,” Shackley said.

Rifting brings rising magma

In fact, that Obsidian Butte rises above the Salton Sea is what first attracted Schmitt’s attention. A 30,000-year-old butte should have been buried by a combination of sediment and subsidence by now, he said. “It had to be very young,” Schmitt said.

The buttes exist because California is tearing apart, forming new oceanic crust as magma wells up from below. The sinking Salton Trough is the landward extension of the Gulf of California, and marks the boundary between the Pacific and North America tectonic plates.

The lava source for the volcanoes is a magma chamber beneath the Salton Sea, which also heats water for a nearby geothermal plant. Decay of uranium isotopes in zircon crystals show magma built up underneath the volcanoes for thousands of years before the latest eruption, the study shows. [50 Amazing Volcano Facts]

If another eruption occurs at the Salton Buttes, it will likely mimic past breakouts, Schmitt said. The volcanoes are made of sticky, slow-moving rhyolite lava. At Obsidian Butte, the lava cooled so quickly it turned into glass. However, pumice and ash found nearby means past breakouts started with a bang.

Schmitt said he hopes to study the area in more detail to better understand the most recent eruption. “The amounts of magma involved are relatively small and the impacts of an explosive eruption, meaning an ash cloud, would most likely be very local,” he said. “We don’t know very well how far any ash would have been dispersed, and that’s something I would like to follow up on in the research.”

Researching future hazards

The National Science Foundation’s EarthScope project funds an extensive seismic imaging project in the Salton Sea that may soon reveal more information about what’s happening deep underground.

“We’ll be looking with great interest to see what we can tell from the Salton Seismic Imaging Project,” said Joann Stock, a Caltech professor and an expert on the region’s volcanic hazards who was not involved in the new study.

“I think [Schmitt's study] is a great contribution,” she said. “It’s an area where we should be concerned. We know that there’s a lot of hot stuff down there,” she told OurAmazingPlanet.

In August, an earthquake swarm shook the nearby town of Brawley. The USGS attributed the temblors to faults in the Brawley Seismic Zone. In September, a sulfurous stench emanated from the Salton Sea and wafted across the Inland Empire. The odor was tentatively linked to a fish die-off, but could also have been caused by volcanic gases, Stock said.

10/25/2012 — Hurricane ‘Sandy’ — over Cuba heading East/Northeast

UPDATE 545am CDT 10/25/2012:

Currently, THREE of five storm tracks have been updated by the forecasting services to show a possible landfall of Hurricane Sandy somewhere in between Washington DC, and Boston Massachusetts

—————-

Tropical storm ‘Sandy’ quickly developed into a hurricane as it passed across the Caribbean — passing now over Cuba — heading towards Nassau and the Bahamas .

The storm should graze the east coast and south florida at first with some fringe storms extending from the long arms of this tropical low pressure system — most projected tracks have the storm making a turn northeast — heading back out into the north Atlantic ocean.

A few storm tracks show a “northeast usa” landfall…

use the links below to monitor this ongoing tropical storm / hurricane situation — for sure expect high tides, and large waves on the east coast.

headline: “Hurricane Sandy packs punch; U.S. could be next”

http://www.cnn.com/2012/10/25/world/americas/tropical-weather-sandy/index.html?hpt=hp_t1

(CNN) — Hurricane Sandy churned over eastern Cuba early Thursday as a Category 2 storm with winds of 105 mph, slipping a bit in strength since making landfall, the National Hurricane Center in Miami said.

Along the U.S. East Coast, residents were told to be wary headed into the weekend.

10/24/2012 — Halema’ uma’ u’ Volcano in Hawaii — may soon overflow with lava

  •

The lava lake inside Halema’uma’u crater, at the top of Mount Kilauea in Hawaii, is closer than ever to reaching the crater floor and spilling out on it, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The summit lava lake is deep within a cylindrical vent with nearly vertical sides. In the past two weeks, the lake level surged about 50 feet (15 meters) and now has only 110 feet (33 m) to go until the lava reaches the top of the vent and floods the crater floor, the USGS said today (Oct. 23).

“It could continue to rise and overflow,” said Matt Patrick, a research scientist at the Hawaii Volcano Observatory.

For the past several months, the lava lake has been slowly rising. The summit itself has been slowly inflating since early August. The lava lake rises and falls as magma levels change within the volcano.

The connection between the vent and volcano is the reason the USGS is also keeping an eye on Kilauea’s eastern rift zone, Patrick told OurAmazingPlanet. “The rising level results from pressurization of the whole magma chamber,” he said.

Deep inside the volcano, the vent supplying Halema’uma’u crater is connected to the actively erupting Pu’u O’o crater. But when the summit of Kilauea inflated in March 2011, the pressure was relieved via a spectacular eruption that broke out at the Kamoamoa Vents.

But the USGS has also watched the volcano’s magma chamber pressurize without producing an eruption, Patrick said. “We’ve seen this pattern several times in the last couple years. One time it produced an eruption, but the other times is just died down and went back to normal.”

The USGS has a live webcam trained on the lava lake, accessed through the Hawaii Volcano Observatory’s site.

“This is really an exciting time for us,” Jessica Ferracane, a park ranger at the Hawaii Volcano National Park, told OurAmazingPlanet. “We’re all watching it rise and fall.”

10/24/2012 — Bayou Corne townhall meeting (tuesday october 23, 2012)

http://www.fox44.com/news/residents-get-break-down-bayou-corne-sinkhole-situation

People in Bayou Corne have spent over two months dealing with evacuations, the smell of crude oil, and the uncertainty surrounding A sinkhole in yards away from their homes.

Texas Brine officials told the audience they have removed most of the crude oil from inside the failed cavern. They say so far the company has removed 2,600 barrels of crude oil from inside the cavern and close to 600 barrells so far from on top of the sinkhole.  Clean up work around the sinkhole continues. The company plans to add 7 geoprobes around the Bayou Corne community in approximately two weeks.

Before Tuesday’s meeting, Parish emergency officials say the volume of the sinkhole doesn’t match the amount of debris inside the failed brine cavern, and scientist don’t know where the extra material came from yet.

Officials say 3d seismic survey is needed to figure out exactly what happened in the cavern, but that is not expected to happen until mid November.

Residents are worried another sinkhole or disturbance under the surface could happen while state and local officials wait for more test to come in.

“We need to move with urgency now,” said Bayou Corne resident Dennis Landry, “It’s time we get some answers on the whole situation.”

Landry says he understands testing results take time to develop but, he says the Bayou Corne community can’t wait much longer.
