CLINTON, Ark. (AP) – A fire that followed a blast at a natural gas compression station in Van Buren County led to several dozen homes being evacuated for a time. No one was hurt.

A statement from BHP Billiton Petroleum says the fire started at about 1:30 p.m. Monday and was out by 2:15 p.m.

The gas company was able to remotely shut down the compressor and the flow of gas from nearby wells in Clinton.

The gas which exploded.. came from the wells nearby just as I said last night on my facebook:

It is confirmed to be a gas explosion.. the gas of course comes from the frack wells , as of today they have now shut off the frack wells in Clinton.

This Arkansas fracking situation is just like Utah 2 months ago – Just like California 1 month ago – both which had large explosions and subsequently the entire collection fields were shut down.

Turns out.. BHP.. the owner of the compressor stations / fracking wells .. they were the ones who were fracking away back in 2011 .. and caused several large earthquakes .

The GOVERNOR of Arkansas suspended all fracking operations within a 1,000 square mile area as a result of BHP’s causing earthquakes in the region .. (largest was a 5.0M causing damage to houses and roads)

As if radioactive wastewater, exploding wells and flammable tap water weren’t bad enough, fracking has now been tied to another environmental threat – earthquakes, thousands of them. Geologists have tied fracking wastewater disposal wells in central Arkansas to an outbreak of more than 1,200 so-called “minor earthquakes” (an oxymoron if ever there was one). At least one startled resident is suing the responsible gas companies for the significant damage one of those earthquakes caused to his home.

The good news is common sense has prevailed in Arkansas. According to the Democrat-Gazette, the state’s Oil and Gas Commission has voted to ban fracking wastewater disposal wells within a 1,150-square-mile area north of Conway in the Fayetteville Shale region. According to the Arkansas Geological Survey (AGS), the fracking operations were taking place on top of an active fault line.

  1. The New Madrid fault is not happy! It seems that nature wants to split USA into 2 landmasses physically as Americans are doing politically. Unfortunately, the rift is a-coming.
