Yesterday (May 22, 2015) I issued a new nearterm watch for the area East of Papua New Guinea for a 6.0M range earthquake to strike due to a deep 4.7 magnitude which struck near Fiji.

Today (May 23, 2015) a 5.9M (6.0M revised) earthquake struck directly East of Fiji, in the Soloman Islands.
The earthquake which struck is a direct follow up to the deeper earthquake yesterday in the adjacent area to the Southeast of Papua New Guinea (which is Fiji).
