6/02/2015 — West Coast / Oregon Earthquake swarm occurring at UNDERSEA VOLCANO – Cleft Segment Volcanoes

A noteworthy earthquake swarm developed off the coast of Oregon over the past day.

As it turns out, this swarm of earthquakes is occurring very close to a large undersea volcano off the West coast of the United States.

Multiple large events struck about 250 miles West of the Oregon coast very close to ( 30 miles from ) from the Cleft Segment undersea Volcanoes.

The Cleft Segment volcano(es) are located along the South Juan De Fuca fault zone, just 100 miles South of the currently erupting Axial Seamount Volcano.

The earthquakes started with a 5.8M, and topped out with a magnitude 5.9 (6.0 revised).  As you can see from the screenshots showing Google earth undersea topography, the 5.9M struck on the flanks of an unnamed undersea volcanic cone.

The large undersea volcano (unnamed?) is seen just to the Northwest of the M5.9 earthquake epicenter by 4 miles.

_______

Clearly this earthquake swarm is happening in close proximity to undersea volcanoes.

Could possibly be a new eruption of a different undersea volcano in the area… or the signs of a coming possible eruption at this location.
