Another rare earthquake has struck Southern Nevada near Las Vegas, and the nearby dormant volcanic buttes.
After seeing the central portion of the craton show displacement yesterday (June 18, 2015), a warning was issued to watch the Southwest United States for renewed movement to begin.
This Nevada volcanic earthquake comes after multiple days with no Southwest US earthquake activity above M3.0.
Now (June 19) another ‘rare’ Nevada earthquake struck near the same location which was hit by a M5.4 nearly one month ago .
Literally the same area which showed heavy movement – back on May 22, 2015 – is again showing movement at / near the dormant volcanic buttes which reside at the seismic epicenter.
